Dr. Jennifer Skulte Ouaiss

Jennifer Skulte-Ouaiss, PhD
Director, Title IX—Equity & Inclusion

Dr. Skulte-Ouaiss is committed to gender equity and to eliminating discrimination in its many forms. In her scholarship and now with the creation of the Title IX Office, she works to raise awareness on how discrimination and harassment undermine academic quality and the attainment of a better society for all. She seeks to build networks of champions for equity and inclusion among students, staff, and faculty at LAU. In addition, she works to help the university live up to its founding promise to provide a unique educational environment for women as well as its current commitment to academic excellence, student centeredness, civic engagement, the advancement of scholarship, the education of the whole person, and the formation of leaders in a diverse world. Dr. Skulte-Ouaiss received her PhD in Political Science from the University of Maryland in the United States and has been with LAU since 2005.

The Title IX Office is in the process of creating a pool of in-depth trained faculty and staff to support the implementation of Title IX at LAU as well as to better be able to participate in investigating discrimination, harassment, and sexual misconduct as needed. These individuals will also be resource people around LAU for issues relating to gender equity and inclusion.
